Small 4 Style: Ouidad and OGX Frizz-Free Summer Hair Products

Here in Texas, we're known for our big hair. With all the humidity we experience in the summer, something has to be done about preventing frizz. Humidity makes many of us get big hair, but not in a good way. Luckily, two of my favorite hair brands, OGX and Ouidad, are fighting my frizz this summer!

OGX (you may have also seen it called Organix) is a high-quality haircare brand with a wide range of products at affordable prices. You can pick up an OGX shampoo, conditioner, and a styling product all for around $25 at Ulta, Target, and Wal-Mart. The new Kukui Oil collection by OGX contains kukui nut oil, a natural humidity repellant. Seeing the word "oil" in hair and skin products makes me nervous, but I had quite the opposite reaction when I saw how shiny and nourished my hair looked after using the shampoo, conditioner, and anti-frizz spray.

Ouidad is known as "the curl expert" but curly-haired beauties shouldn't be the only ones who get fabulous and healthy hair results. The Ouidad Climate Control products are not just lightweight and effective. There are also some interesting hair tips and techniques for using the products on the back of the bottles. For example, most conditioners are rinsed out immediately. They suggest you leave it in for a few minutes and comb through your hair. I also find that just combing through with my fingers works just as well if I forget to put a comb in the shower. You can even leave a little bit of the conditioner on your ends for a leave-in treatment. My favorite product from this Ouidad collection is the Climate Control Frizz and Flyaway Fighter Spray... you can use it on wet or dry hair to prevent or eliminate flyaways!

I've been very pleased with products from both Ouidad and OGX. But I think these two collections, Climate Control and Kukui Oil respectively, are their best so far. Since using these products alone or in conjunction, I've gotten a lot of comments on how good my hair looks. I even mix the shampoos and conditioners and use both sprays at once. I also switch back and forth between the collections. I'm a big believer in switching up your beauty routine so that your hair doesn't grow accustomed to one product or brand. When styling my hair, I spritz some OGX anti-frizz oil on my wet hair and finish with the Ouidad Frizz and Flyaway Fighter. Frizz-free perfection!
