Marie Claire Event at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

I was honored to get an invite to Marie Claire magazine's Women in Business Speaker Series in Fort Worth.  Scheduled to speak was Alexis Maybank, co-founder of Gilt Groupe.  Her flight from New York was unfortunately delayed and she got to the event later than planned.  I can't wait to read her book, By Invitation Only.  Even though I was disappointed I didn't get a chance to meet Alexis, I still had a great time at the event!  Marie Claire magazine has partnered with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to celebrate women who are leaders in their industries, as well as up-and-comers like me.  I talked to some really cool people. I was so excited to run into Wallflower Management owner Tammy Theis; I had interviewed her in March.  And I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa Petty, editor in chief of DFW Style Daily.

And I have to mention that the gift bag was phenomenal.  Now I get to try some great products that have been featured in Marie Claire.  It's obvious that this was a fabulous and well-planned event.
